Screened drainage rock
Drain rock is clean rock with the fines screened out, so water moves through it freely. It is the material for perimeter drainage, weeping tile, and backfill behind retaining walls. BC producers also call it clear crush or clear stone.

Common questions
Drain rock, answered.
Not sure which size your job needs? Send the spec and we point you to the right product.
What size is your drain rock?
We produce 20mm and 40mm clear crush, low-fines rock that drains freely. Tell us the application and we will point you to the right size.
What is the difference between drain rock and road base?
Drain rock is clean and free-draining, with the fines screened out. Road base is well-graded with fines so it compacts. Use drain rock for drainage, road base for structural support.
Is your drain rock clean of fines?
Yes. It is screened to take out the fines that would otherwise trap water. That is what keeps it free-draining behind a wall or around weeping tile. We screen rather than wash: Cantex runs a screening plant, not a wash plant.
Can I pick up at the pit, or do you deliver?
Both. Bring your truck to the Summerland pit and our crew loads it, or we arrange delivery across the South Okanagan for an additional charge quoted per load. We do not run our own trucks. For a spec crush we bring the plant to your site.
