Crushed screenings

Screenings are the fine crushed material below roughly 6mm, used to compact tight under pavers, to set pathways, and as a levelling course. BC producers also call them crusher fines or manufactured fines. Not to be confused with sand.

Screenings, answered.

Not sure which size your job needs? Send the spec and we point you to the right product.

What are screenings used for?

Screenings compact tight, so they work as a paver base, a pathway surface, and a levelling course. They are the fine crushed material off the screen, roughly 6mm minus.

Are screenings the same as crusher fines or stone dust?

Yes, they are the same family. In BC we call them screenings, crusher fines, or manufactured fines. They are angular, unlike rounded sand, which is why they lock up under pavers.

Can I use screenings under pavers?

Screenings are a common paver base and setting bed because they compact and stay put. Confirm the bedding spec your project references and we will match it.

Can I pick up at the pit, or do you deliver?

Both. Bring your truck to the Summerland pit and our crew loads it, or we arrange delivery across the South Okanagan for an additional charge quoted per load. We do not run our own trucks. For a spec crush we bring the plant to your site.
