Cantex Crushing
The support side of a Cantex crushing setup: the site office, the crew trailers, water tanks, and fuel storage laid out behind the plant.

The compliance a procurement officer needs to see.

Mobile crushing puts our crew and equipment on a customer's site, working within their project requirements and the standards that govern our operations. From commercial and municipal projects to mining and public infrastructure, Cantex brings confirmed Mines Act supervision, BC Bid registration, and the operating standards that apply to the work.

Certified, permitted, and ready for the job.

Cantex maintains the certifications and BC Bid registration that support demanding mobile crushing projects across British Columbia. Our operations run under all three levels of BC Mines Act supervision, backed by a permitted mine and the WorkSafeBC OHS requirements that govern mobile equipment and pit work. The credentials below show exactly what's behind our operations.

  • BC Mines Act.

Our Summerland pit is a permitted mine under the BC Mines Act.

It operates under the safety, environmental, and operational requirements that apply to permitted mining operations.

  • Mine supervisor certification.

Our crew is mine-supervisor-certified under the BC Mines Act.

The first of the three Mines Act supervision levels we hold. A roughly four-hour certification course.

  • Shift boss certification.

Our crew includes a shift-boss-certified supervisor, trained to oversee sites running multiple contractors.

The second level. A roughly three-week course with an exam, above mine supervisor.

  • Mine manager certification.

Our leadership holds mine manager certification, the senior level of BC Mines Act supervision.

The senior level. It requires a mining engineering or earth sciences degree, supervisory experience, and a region-specific regulatory exam.

  • BC Bid registered.

A registered supplier on BC Bid.

That registration allows municipalities, government agencies, and public organizations to engage Cantex for eligible procurement opportunities.

  • WorkSafeBC OHS Regulation.

Our operations follow the WorkSafeBC OHS Regulation requirements governing mobile equipment and pit work.

Why these standards matter.

How these standards support your project.

Every project has different requirements, but most commercial, municipal, and industrial work comes back to the same areas. Here's how our certifications and operating standards support each one.

  1. 01

    Safety systems

Our operations run under three levels of Mines Act supervision: a mine manager, a shift boss, and mine-supervisor-certified crews. Our sites work under WorkSafeBC's OHS Regulation, including the parts that govern mobile equipment and pit operations.

  2. 02

    Material quality

We crush to the spec your job references, including MoTT SS202 base course and CSA A23.1/A23.2 concrete-aggregate gradations.

  3. 03

    Environmental & reclamation

A Mines Act permit requires an approved reclamation program, and the pit is worked to that plan.

  4. 04

    Procurement readiness

Registered to bid public work through BC Bid.

  5. 05

    Regulatory compliance

In BC a gravel pit is legally a mine. We operate the Summerland pit as a permitted mine under the BC Mines Act and the Health, Safety and Reclamation Code.

Common questions about standards and compliance.

Is a gravel pit a mine in British Columbia?

Yes. Under the BC Mines Act, a gravel pit or quarry is legally a mine. Our Summerland pit is permitted and operated as a mine under the Act and the Health, Safety and Reclamation Code for Mines in BC.

Is your crew certified?

Yes, at all three Mines Act supervision levels, and not only at the pit: a mine manager, a shift boss, and mine-supervisor-certified crews. Operators are trained to step into different roles on site, which is what keeps a certified, stable crew on the job.

Can you crush to MoTT SS202 and CSA A23.1?

We crush to the spec your job references, including MoTT SS202 base course and CSA A23.1 concrete-aggregate gradations. You supply the spec; we produce to it.

Can you bid public work?

Yes. We are a registered supplier on BC Bid and bid provincial and municipal work through it.
